Rebecca Jestice earned her PhD in MIS at Binghamton University, under the mentorship of Surinder Kahai. Her dissertation work focused on using virtual worlds for education and leadership development. Her research interests are on the effectiveness of online tools, especially virtual worlds, for leadership development and as educational tools. She is also interested in how virtual environments effect multi-cultural team processes and decision making.
Rebecca received her B.A. from Earlham College in Japanese Studies. She spent some years living in Japan as an English teacher, translator, and student exchange organizer. She then managed her family’s book store before deciding on a life in academia. She received her M.S. in Organizational Management at the School for International Training before continuing on to her PhD program.
